Clinton Fire Department

Fire Department

The Clinton Fire Department (CFD) provides Fire Protection and Emergency Medical Services to the City of Clinton.  In addition, the department provides mutual aid assistance and advanced life support intercept services to surrounding departments and communities in west-central Indiana.

The department has a long, proud history of service to the community. Established in 1869 after a major fire destroyed a block of the downtown and several businesses, the "Niagara Fire Company" was created as a subscription-based service. The department was later incorporated into city government, becoming tax-supported and municipally controlled. CFD operates out of one fire stations. Station personnel consist of three shifts, each of those shifts operating on a 24-hour schedule.

It is the mission of the department to preserve life and property for our citizens, provide professional and compassionate service, promote public safety, and foster economic growth through leadership, management, and actions as an all-risk life safety response provider.
